More about Golden Perch

Golden perch (Macquaria ambigua, commonly called Yellowbelly) are a very hardy native fish which can tolerate most water conditions and variations in water temperature. Golden perch are suitable for farm dams but not for aquaponic systems as they are carnivores and as such need to be fed live food including yabbies, worms and prawns.
In dams, golden perch feed on insects, smaller fish and yabbies.
